7 Blog Ideas to get you Primed for Your Next Blog Post
Has it happened to you? That dreaded time when you just cannot think of what to write. It happens to writers from time to time.
It probably happened to you before if you write blog posts. Blog ideas just aren’t coming.
It will almost surely happen again… You have “Writer’s Block”. You need blog ideas and you need them now while you are in the mood to write.
Meagan Spooner an author says that writer’s block is just a fancy way of saying “I don’t feel like doing any work today.” Sometimes may be the case. There are those occasions when you have a blog post due.
Fresh Blog Ideas just aren’t Forthcoming
Unfortunately you just cannot come up with any fresh blog ideas. What do you do? As a blogger, you have a life with commitments and important timetables. So time is often of the essence. Other times you are busy doing other things so writing is relegated to the back burner.

Lots of ideas here…now get bloggin’! 🙂
Sometimes you have blocked off a particular period of time for writing. That’s so you could write your daily, weekly or monthly blog post. You know your devoted readers and followers are expecting some amazing content.
Sometimes your content helps them solve problems in their life. Don’t worry, fellow blogger, because I am about to show you 7 foolproof methods for coming up with fresh new ideas.
Ideas for your blog that you can put into practice immediately. Let’s get started…
1) Where’s your Notebook; keep one handy (Both Physical and Virtual)?
Anytime inspiration can strike and you need to be ready. It happens to me a lot.
Fortunately most of the time a note pad is just a dozen steps away or less. How many times have you had a great idea for a blog post.
You know your readers will love it, only to find that you don’t have a pen or pencil or anything to write on.
Even a small spiral notepad and pen or pencil in your pocket or purse would be a life saver. Those simple items beside your bed also ensures that you will never miss jotting down a great blog idea.
Did you know there is even a waterproof paper and pencil set you can purchase online. Would you actually write during your shower or bath? Also, nowadays digital recorders are very cheap these days.
They can also be used for your daily shopping. They also work for to-do lists as well as for capturing great blog ideas.
2) You have Failures – Write about Your Failures
Once you come across to your readers as a real person, that’s when engagement and trust begin. Everyone has experienced failure and loss at some point in their life. When you describe a failure situation relevant to your niche it shows you are a real person.
You may have suffered a significant setback like some of your readers. You become a real person to your readers. Your readers are now not simply reading a blog, but are interacting with someone just like them.
To help make your blog a success, when you can’t come up with any new blog ideas explain one of your failures.
3) Write About Your Successes
Like the above, but just the opposite you can write about your successes. This blog post idea can go hand-in-hand with the one above and can make for a great two-part post. It also solves the problem of coming up with content for two consecutive posts.
It doesn’t have to be a big success. A small one will do. Almost everyone has a small success at one time or another. Foe example here is a small success of mine where an investment I made, a very risky investment at that, ended up being a success.
Let’s be honest, real people are reading your blog because they have real problems. They are striving for success in many areas. Just make sure not to “toot your own horn” too loudly. They need to be celebrating with you, not feeling like you are bragging.
4) Create a “Best Of” Blog Post
You can’t tell whether or not a reader on your blog is brand-new. Maybe they have read every single post you have ever made. You just don’t know the status of you readers. Look back through your archives.
Make a short “Best of” or “Top 10” blog post. It should point back to previous popular content on your site. Make sure all of those posts cover a single topic, or different problems that are important to your market or niche.
It makes an excellent one-stop resource for your followers. In addition it also develops important on-site SEO due to the backlinks this post will create.
5) Your Daily Experiences can be a Good Topic to Write About
You probably saw something unique, memorable or weird today. It does not have to be relative to your market or blog at all. Just by taking a random event from your daily life and tying it into your niche can be a good blog idea.
Your readers then get to see that you are a normal person with normal experiences. When you relate your experience to some problem or solution important to your followers, you solve two problems.
You solve the problem of not being able to come up with a blog post. You also simultaneously help your readers while becoming a “real person” in their eyes.
6) In a Sense Steal Some Name Recognition in your Title!
Wait! We don’t mean steal in the true sense of the word. No matter what kind of blog you have, there are likely some big-name celebrities that have some relationship to your market.
That relationship can be your blog’s excuse to capitalize on it.
Steal name recognition from an already popular and globally recognized industry leader. The title which is created instantly begs for a closer look.
If you’re in the finance industry, how about using a title like “Why Jeff Besos Is Rich and You Aren’t … and What You Can Do About It”. If you are teaching about blogging, using Seth Godin’s name in the title and body of your post instantly makes it readable.
Same goes for other well-known people – it helps greatly if you can capitalize on their popularity.
7) Get Physical!
We’re not referring to Olivia Newton John’s song here! Getting that kind of physical certainly has its advantages. In your case, however, all you need to do is get your blood pumping to energize your brain.
I’m sure you realize sometimes you really do need to get away from your computer. Turn off your cellphone. They both help to “reset” the way you’ve been thinking.
Some quick calisthenics, 25 push-ups or sit-ups helps reset your body and your thinking. It could be a quick jog around the block that gives your body and your mind a much-needed wake-up call.
The benefits of physical fitness and intense exercise to the brain can give you that spark you need. Their benefits have been recorded in countless studies for hundreds of years.
Just go for a walk is also something you could do. Fresh air and fresh surroundings will help you think differently. It’s not necessary to try to come up with new ideas while you’re out. It doesn’t matter.
You just need to refresh your mind – and body too. if you don’t come up with any new ideas, so what! But if you do, you’ll want to make sure your notebook is at hand.
Bonus Tip- Start Your Blog Now – Don’t let Excuses get in the Way
This is a tip for you that are thinking of having a blog, but haven’t done anything about it. Just do it. The longer you put it off the more likely you won’t do it.
That’s just human nature. If money is a problem, brush that thought from your mind. You can always create your own website for little or no money.
Just use WordPress. Yes there are some minor costs like hosting and autoresponders, but they are minor. That’s especially true if you don’t get carried away thinking you need the best of everything to get started.
There are hosting specials, domain name specials, free autoresponder and the likes. The list goes on for free or low cost accessories you may need in the future.
